This oil painting shows us hands holding a long, spikey bramble branch about to be cut with a pair of pruning shears. The tension of this paused moment is heightened by a vibrant colours palette, swirling and blurring. This feeling of surrealness is contrasted with part of the shears being painted more realistically- a moment of grounding.
