Sayal-Bennett’s practice explores the socio-political contexts of architectural heritage, modernism, and colonialism. Her powder-coated, laser-cut steel sculptures investigate the colonial imagination and migration in architectural forms. With references to sci-fi aesthetics, her precise reliefs integrate into their surroundings, critically examining modernism’s limitations within post-colonial contexts while reflecting on both past and future narratives.
