Get Making. The Auto Amor Artboard is a 24 × 30 cm acrylic gesso primed wooden painting panel, ready for you to make something new.
Handmade at the Auto Amor HQ in Sevenoaks.
Suitable for artists of all ages and experience levels.
24 × 30 × 0.5 cm | Acrylic gesso-primed hardwood plywood
Postage & Packaging costs the same whether you order 1 or 2 boards — so feel free to stock up.
The official Auto Amor Art Board is handmade in our studio from hardwood plywood, cut to size and prepared with two hand-rolled coats of acrylic gesso.
Designed for artists of all ages and abilities, it's a starting point for making something new. Paint, draw, collage and experiment.
Each board has a bit of personality:
The edges may be a little rough from cutting.
The surface might benefit from a light sand or an extra coat of your own gesso.
You may notice some natural wood grain.
If you're looking for a flawless, luxury, factory-perfect panel… this is not that.
Our Art Boards are prepared by hand at scale, rather than manufactured for absolute flatness. We recommend storing them flat on a level surface when not in use.
MORE THAN JUST AN ART BOARD.
Stamped with the official Auto Amor logo on the reverse, the Art Board is the common format at the heart of Auto Amor.
In 2027, we're introducing New Arrivals, our exhibition and discovery programme at Auto Amor HQ in Sevenoaks.
Artists aged 18 and over can make work on an Auto Amor Art Board and, while submissions are open, send their completed artwork to HQ.
Once received, your artwork will be available for visitors to browse and buy in our gallery crates. Every eligible artwork accepted into New Arrivals will also spend a minimum of one week on our gallery wall.
Your artwork will also become part of our New Arrivals database, where collectors, curators and galleries can discover your work.
No traditional Open Calls. No selection process for eligible work. No rejection letters.
New Arrivals has its own participation dates, eligibility requirements and limited exhibition capacity. Buying an Art Board does not reserve an exhibition place, and participation is confirmed separately. Future editions of New Arrivals are not guaranteed.
The board is yours to use however you choose — exhibit it independently, sell it, keep it or simply make something for yourself.

We only started in February 2026We believe great art is being missed.
There are more talented artists than traditional galleries have room to exhibit. And there are people who would love to own original art but don't know where to start.
We think both sides are missing out.
We're building Auto Amor to bring them together.
-
We want more artists to have the opportunity to exhibit their work, regardless of their background, experience or connections.
And we want more people to feel comfortable discovering and buying original art, without needing specialist knowledge or feeling pressured into a purchase.
We believe we can make a bigger difference by creating opportunities for lots of artists, rather than representing a select few.
Our role is to bring artwork together, make it accessible and create opportunities for discovery.
Artists, collectors, curators and other galleries can explore the work, make their own selections and form connections.
And when we discover something exceptional, we want to celebrate it and introduce it to a wider audience.
We're building a gallery where opportunities can grow from the work itself.
-
We launched Auto Amor in February 2026 as an artist-led exhibition project, selling our Art Boards and organising free Open Calls with galleries across the UK.
We've exhibited hundreds of artists, worked with some brilliant curators and galleries, experimented with Art Swaps and tried different ways of getting artwork seen and sold.
We've learned a lot about selling art.
We paid for a subscription to an established online art platform and made over 600 artworks available for sale. Despite this, only a handful sold, and we had little control over how the work was marketed or how collectors discovered it.
But our experience with physical galleries told a different story.
At one partner exhibition, we showed 250 artworks and sold over 120 of them.
That was a turning point.
It showed us what could happen when artists' work was brought together in a physical space, where people could experience it, discover something unexpected and take it home.
So we opened Auto Amor HQ in Sevenoaks, giving artists a permanent presence in the town.
We've also built our own online gallery and database. Rather than relying on somebody else's platform, we can now experiment with how we reach collectors, understand what brings people to the website and see what actually leads to sales.
And we've discovered something rather special about our browsing crates.
People love looking through them. Picking up artworks, reading the handwritten artist names and prices, and finding something that catches their eye.
There's no pressure, no need to know anything about art and no one telling you what you should like.
And because every Auto Amor Art Board is the same size, we can take a work straight from the crate and put it into a frame.
Suddenly, something someone discovered for themselves becomes a finished artwork, ready to hang at home.
We want to build on this experience, making buying original art feel as natural and enjoyable as discovering it.
-
In 2027 we want to make gallery access simpler.
We're moving away from traditional Open Calls and introducing New Arrivals, an open gallery system where participating artists can exhibit one Auto Amor Art Board artwork per calendar month at HQ without having to be selected first, subject to available space.
From there, we want artists, curators, collectors and partner galleries to discover work and create further opportunities, including exhibitions of larger artworks.
Instead of artists repeatedly applying for opportunities, we'd love to see opportunities finding artists.
We want every artwork at HQ to have more than one opportunity to be seen.
When artwork arrives at HQ, we'll exhibit it on the gallery wall before moving it into our browsing crates, organised by subject and price.
We'll look after each artwork for six months, giving us time to introduce it to collectors, curators and partner galleries.
We're introducing RFID technology to help us keep track of artwork and make it easier to locate, exhibit and sell.
Our ambition is to make the most of those six months, creating as many opportunities as possible for each artwork to be discovered, exhibited again or sold.
That's what we're working towards, even if we don't manage it with every artwork.
At the end of six months, artists can choose to exchange their work for a randomly selected artwork by another participating artist through our Art Swap programme, collect their work from HQ for free or arrange return postage through our website. Return postage starts at £9.99, including packaging and delivery. Artists can also request their work back at any time.
WE ALSO WANT TO BRING ARTISTS TOGETHER.
We're developing a Pub Art Quiz & Swap event, bringing artists together in person to meet, exchange work and make new connections.
It's another way we hope to create opportunities beyond simply exhibiting artwork.
BUT WE'RE NOT JUST THINKING ABOUT ARTISTS.
We also want to make buying original art feel easier and more welcoming.
Not everyone knows where to discover original art, and galleries can sometimes feel intimidating or inaccessible.
We want to change that. We want people to feel comfortable exploring art, discovering new artists and making their own choices, without feeling pressured to buy.
Our experience at HQ has shown us how much people enjoy discovering original art for themselves. Now we want to bring that same sense of discovery to our website, making it easier for people to find artwork that appeals to them.
We also want people to discover artists beyond their Art Boards, with opportunities to explore and buy their larger works.
We're developing limited-edition prints and new ways to introduce original art to a wider audience.
Behind the scenes, we're automating as much administration as possible. The less we spend running the system, the more accessible we can keep it for artists and collectors.
AND WE'VE GOT BIGGER AMBITIONS TOO.
We'd love to develop a larger Auto Amor HQ with more exhibition space, a café, music and somewhere people can spend time discovering art.
We're even planning an LP featuring unsigned bands alongside artwork from the Auto Amor community.
We want Auto Amor to become more than a gallery. Somewhere artists, collectors and the wider community can come together.
-
We think the art world could work differently.
There are more artists making remarkable work than traditional galleries have room to show.
We don't think the answer is simply to keep asking artists to compete for the same limited opportunities.
So we're trying something new.
We're building a gallery that more artists can access, and experimenting with ways to get their work discovered, exhibited and sold.
Will it work? We don't know.
There will be mistakes, things that don't go to plan and ideas that turn out not to be very good. We'll learn from them and keep trying.
We can't promise that every artwork will sell or lead to another exhibition. What we can promise is that we'll keep looking for ways to create more opportunities for the artists taking part.
We're not asking everyone to agree with us. We're looking for people who think there's room to do things differently.
If you think the art world could be better, we'd love you to come along for the ride.

Panel Hanging Plates 40mm x 80mm Self Adhesive Pack of 4 Mounting Hanging Kit with 8 Bumpers
A clean, low-profile hanging solution for lightweight artworks and panels. These self-adhesive hanging plates allow work to be wall-mounted without drilling, screws, or visible fixings, giving a neat, professional finish.
Each plate combines a strong pressure-sensitive adhesive foam pad with a formed metal hanger. When used with the included spacers, artworks sit flat and securely against the wall.
Typical applications
These plates are designed for use on smooth, non-porous surfaces, including acrylic, aluminium composite, Dibond and similar panel materials.
At Auto Amor we have also used them directly on bare wood panels in the studio, where they have performed reliably. As wood is a natural material with variable grain, density and porosity, adhesion can differ from piece to piece.
For this reason, use on wood is at the installer’s discretion, and we recommend testing on a spare panel or inconspicuous area before final hanging.
Features
Strong self-adhesive backing suitable for lightweight works
No tools or drilling required
Quick, discreet installation
Includes spacers to keep work hanging flat
Fixings are hidden once mounted
What’s included
4 × self-adhesive metal hanging plates
8 × wall spacers
Installation guidance
Apply only to clean, dry, flat surfaces. Allow the adhesive to fully cure (recommended 24 hours) before hanging artwork.
